You get so alone

When you’re not like the others

When you refuse to walk their path

 

But sometimes it is better to be alone

Than to be like them

To act like them

To try to understand

Their wants and desires

 

Just remember that this

Is all just a ride

And it could end just like that

 

To live this life

I mean really live it

Sometimes means

Wandering away from the group

Abandoning the fear that comes along

With loneliness

 

Nothing good ever came out of

Being like everyone else

Of thinking like everyone else

Of acting like everyone else

 

Be the strange one

Be the weird one

Paddle against the current as

They all go with the flow

Just don’t

Be like

Them.

I've always loved the thought of the one fish swimming against the flow and past the flow of fish around me... I hope it's my swim...but some days I might take on to much water...who knows.. :) Thank -you for the thoughts.. xx

Awesome, the 'just a ride' reference reminds me of Bill Hicks and his "It's all just a ride" poem. This poem edifies that point brilliantly.
