Home Cry

Home Cry

A Poem by Tomi

Days in the dark waiting for the sun's rise
After the rain falls then comes the sunrise
But it's hard when your home's in a dumpsite
Nobody's willing to help but everyone's contrite

She's 16 so she finds someone to confide in
He offers her money so she's complying
60 year old man, pedophile
Here comes the bride, right down the isle

 Ambush, four in their youth
Young, able, but the end is near
Beaten, battered, abused, burned
Die, the mob chants: die

Cowards, so called militants
Ignoramuses killing in God's name
7 year old kid just got napped
When did education become sin?

Flood, families rendered homeless
3 month old in the trash
Abortion after delivery
Condoms are safe they said

So what happens when the sun sets
I find that there's no difference
When day and night time
Are full of pain and sad stories
But hope lurks, right around the corner

Thank you so much!
these are the images of what haunts my mind everyday... it's rare to find such a conscience and these dark, painful observations that people want to imagine away... and you make them into poetry... your visions are prophetic, powerful, reality, disturbing as it should be, these are the works of our humanity but I think we desperately want hope and something better... we can make it better for each other, you are doing it right here.

Thank you!
A lot of bad things going on in our world. Here in the USA. The same things are happening. Even mother's killing their babies then themselves. World is getting colder. I wish I knew how to stop the suffering? People need hope. Places to rest and be safe. Need more kind people and less violence. Thank you for sharing the powerful poetry.

A raw and painful read, as it should be. Colonialism, neo-colonialism, corrupt sadistic national leaders selling out the lives of their fellow citizens to more of the same first world corrupters. Going rate? Pennies per head. Jesus weeps.
Kudos for putting it out here.
