A Poem by Tony Jordan
"

free verse - Warning - deals with suicide

"
They line up
With their stones
I am buried
to my chest
in their disdain
I don't fear
this death.

Together
professionals
friends
family
start hurling
their
'accusations'.

As my lights
dim
under the
barrage
My main thought is
- how
can I be accused
of
'trying to end my life'?
'
'
~ to me~
it never
began.

"how can I be accused of trying to end my life? to me it never began."
Holy crap, that got me. This is so painfully accurate. Applause.

A very powerful poem especially the ending. I like the imagery of being buried as it evokes a feeling of true suffocation.

Greatly penned Tony
When mind is not sane, how can we analyze it whether it is right or wrong. No one has the right to blame such people who goes through such phase of life. Staying sane is a bliss and to be able to fight out suicidal tendencies and depression is an achievement in itself. This is a great insightful piece of work.
A free verse written very impact-fully. Loved everything about this writing.
Keep it up.

Interesting and yes it is curious when you are under stress and the help often does more harm than good.

Heartbreakingly sad subject. I lost a very close friend to suicide and I don't think I will ever get over it. There is always a reason to live...a reason to fight the demons. LydI**

Beautifully dark and sad in its theme. Weirdly enough I really tend to enjoy the dark themes in this poem. I've just always been drawn to the darker side of human nature and its effects and repercussions.

Very well done, Moon Face! ;)

I think it might perfectly reflect the ongoings of someone's brain who feels overwhelmed by this world. I said might on purpose because who am I to dare to know, because I never felt as desperate and rolled over by all of it. I can relate though to a feeling of non-belonging. Simply expressed yet goes deep.
