As The Mississippi Passes

As The Mississippi Passes

A Poem by Revolutionary
"

A tribute to the people who stare and do nothing. It is time to stop the tyrany

"

I have never witnessed a more dispicable scene

of robbing Peter to pay Paul!

The worst part is the acceptance

when we all should be apalled!

Flooding vital farmland

to save Metroppolis

wreaks of corruption so foul

it can not be dismissed!

Blow the levee!!!

Blow them all!!!

We won't let you rebuild!

Drown the farmland,famish man.

Deny us proper yield!

Right now we all must be well fed,

and imune to our countrymens fate.

Till FEMA draggs you from your bed,

and it's mandatory to evacuate.

As you drive away with the few things

they gave you time to cherrish,

you become part of the suffering.

Do you see now how your countrymen perrish?

We are being destroyed by a twisted design

designated to starve the masses.

Our chance of salvation is floating away

As The Mississippi Passes!

Why should it be okay for them to do as they please, They are forcing many out of homes and places to raise their families. It makes me sick to even think about it. I wish people would stop thinking about themselves and start thinking about others that they are effecting.

It's a nice simple poem which carries the point you're fighting for loud and clear. People have such ridiculous notions when it comes to things like where to build houses etc.

I don’t know why they let the cities be built so close to the rivers…Tragedy all around…I hate to see people get washed out, but you got it right, rob Peter to pay Paul…I hope the weather starts cooperating soon…I loved the poem, I just wish more people had their eyes open like you do…

Great Write!

No matter what our government serves the people last and money first. It doesn't matter the president or government organization. It is sad but it is also truth. We are only carbon units that pay them through taxes.

Now I didn't see any mistakes in your write here, I feel it was clear and to the point. I did connect with the emotion you are feeling and the picture helped push that futher. As far as for me when I read poetry I prefer to see breaks as it makes it easier to read and process and not blend one line into the next. It is more of a personal preference than any kind of rule. Everything else I think is good and I like i how you wrote it.
