The Pier

The Pier

A Poem by Truly Ross-Wisehart

How many times has he walked this pier
Sat at the edge and pondered
His inner-most thoughts stream away on his tears
Long is the road he has wandered

How many times has he searched in vain
That face in still water's reflection
His inner-most dreams held tightly in chains
Captive for his own protection

How many times has he felt hope's spark
At darkness's edge does it dance
His inner-most feelings would light up the dark
Still, trust requires taking a chance

A great piece of writing. I'm surprised no one else has commented on this little gem. You have a gift for words and your rhythm and rhymes are impeccable on this. The picture really compliments the poem well.
