Sundrop/Moonlight

A Poem by UnendingOceans

Sundrop/Moonlight

Life goes on now

that you and I have reached the point

we can no longer be

reliant upon.

It grows stronger,

that urge to trade the future

for the present and the past,

I knew we couldn’t last.

But why do you have to tell me

everyday that I have failed?

Why do I believe you

when you say you’re sorry so?

I don’t really know,

I guess this is how it’s going to be.

Life progresses,

we walk through verdant fields

with blooms that put us both to sleep

makes me want to weep

and take you by the hand

pleading for the time to come

when we can smile at our reflections.

Look at the sun

and tell me I am burned.

I’ll walk slowly with the moon

and tell you your every mystery.
