The Evolution of an Hour Lost

A funny poem (I hope) about Facebook and how it makes me feel. I'm not sure if it's completely done yet, so I'll take some feedback if anyone desires! Thanks!

Phone in my pocket 

I don't wanna look

At fake people's drama

All over Facebook 

But I do it anyway 

I can not resist 

Tap open the app

Instantly I'm pissed 

Fake happy smiles

And fake happy lives 

Happy anniversary babe!

From fake happy wives 

A guttural sound 

Comes out of my mouth 

Four hundred likes 

We bought our dream house!

So I keep on scrolling

And what do I see 

Best Mom Ever!

That’s news to me

Look! Last night’s dinner

What an awesome dish

Vegan zucchini enchiladas

Oh, so delish!

My finger keeps moving

Instead I want more

Of your crazy cat photos

And things I adore 

But all that comes up

Are hundreds of ads

Fights about politics

It makes me so mad

Such personal matters

Out there on the line

Birthdays and funerals

Just a matter of time

Eventually you’ll see

Such intimate things

Date nights, weddings

And engagement rings

Asking for prayers

No questions, just do it

Need some positive vibes

To help me get through it

Those friend requests

Always seem to pop up

People you may know

Makes me wanna throw up

Need a recommendation

In search of a place

Whew! I'm out of breath after reading this. Many people b***h about FB, but this might be the most comprehensive list I've ever seen of all that I hate about FB. Still, we keep going there & looking, as you suggest. Maybe we'll see one posting in thirty about something we really need to know about. Almost as revealing as the crap people post, is the crap that gets hundreds of likes. Whereas the gentle personal authentic postings are ignored. You make this sound fun & funny, not like a grind. This might have been the best poem I have ever seen, EVER! It was definitely full of laughs throughout the whole poem and so many truths hit my eyes! My Dad constantly talks about wanting to delete Facebook cuz he's tired of always hearing all that Facebook drama, but whenever I walk over to the couch and see him on his phone, can you guess what he's doing? Scrolling through Facebook! Lol, electronics definitely have been part of my life for the most part (I'm a gen z, born in 2003) so I feel like I understand this poem completely. I really loved this poem, it gave me a laugh!!
