I am here, where are you?

I am here, where are you?

A Poem by VKS

It hurts, I bleed
you drain me of color
a vapid skeleton deep in the trenches
do you care?
do you even blink, mother?
you suck out life
you spit me out
you desiccate my remains
what good are you to the lifeless corpse I carry?
you favor yourself
you watch me die
you want me to die
you don’t save me
yet you’re my mother
let him suffocate my life and take me,
damaged goods is what you say of me?
let it be known that damaged goods
is what rose me above you
let this assault,
your assault
and his
forever be etched in your memories
I survived
