  "Just Not"

 

He stands...heart in hand,

Not outstanding, nor "fair of face".

Longing inside for a love,

To just show...one trace...

 

Of recognition, in her beautiful eyes.

For she sees not...from where love comes.

He stands and cries...he wonders why?

He offers all...yet receives none,

 

Of love's promises;he has so much to give,

But..."just not" fair of face he exists, yet never lives.

i recall that the Bible states that Jesus was "comely" in appearance ..it was a while until i actually took the time to look that up ...it also means "homely" ... and i believe it goes on to say that he looked that way so people would not be inspired by "good looks" but rather who He is and His message ... your poem causes me to see your "person" very clearly ...:((
