Friends

Friends

A Poem by Vincent Vernesk

I could have friends, if I wanted
But what if I wanted to slip past all that
And go to that locked door
And then slip even further sinking so deep into my conscious that I lose my self
Into that condition which puts people into locked rooms in long corridors.
What if I wanted to become insane?
To lose all grip of reasoning
To have no formal obligations
Then I would become like a free child of my soul
I would sing and dance and play in Truth

I don't think they have the Writer'sCafe there, so...you may not want to. haha. At least you would know who your true friends are when you get back. The others would hit the dust. I love the observations in your poem and the urge to be free. A great write and intriguing poem!
