Mr. Mirror

Mr. Mirror

A Poem by Vincent Vernesk

Mr. Mirrorare you true?
What is this you show me?

Are you showing me a true depiction of who I am?
Or
Are you warping my image and distorting my character?

Can you tell the truth?
Or
Do you labour all day long spinning lies?

Why dont you just kill me Mr. Mirror?

Why dont you just tell me Mr. Mirror?
Is that really me looking back?
Or
Is that a painting of someone in a glass frame?

Tell me the truth Mr. Mirror

I think when we look into a mirror we see what we actually want to see, not onesself as they really are..I know when I get dressed up etc..and look in the mirror I sometimes think I am a lot younger than I am and wish I could go out and do the stupid things I did when I was younger..Mirrors can tell the truth or you...yourself can let them lie to you..Very interesting write..God bless...Valentine

This poem is leaning towards a possible fairy tale. Realistic on one hand..... I enjoyed reading this poem. I don't think mirrors lie, or do they?
