Selling the drama

Selling the drama

A Poem by Victoria Lee~
"

the games people play

"

Words
Cut to bone
Truth
 Distorted by lies
And sold in the drama
To anyone that would listen
You did what you did
You said what you said
Only you know why
Believing your own lies
You play your little games
Drama
Spun out of control
A grand Illusion
A mind
That thinks they
are in control
Lies have been told
The drama has been sold
The truth lies somewhere
In the Grand Illusion
In the game that you like to play
In the things that you say
You think no one  really cares
as the price for admission was free
Can't you see?
You never fooled me
And when the drama has come to an end
The truth  finally stands up
and applauds
A stellar performance
And it will never let you forget
You were only fooling yourself

haha! Bravo! This is perfectly expressed. I think we've all played a part somehow in this type of performance -- the grand illusion. lol. Coincidently, I just added the Styx song "Grand Illusion" to my playlist the other day, and was inspired to write something regarding the same, though haven't started it yet. So, when I read this I was a little .... surprised.

Great flow :)

Very well done!

Fantastic piece my friend, I know some of these people well including my father that play people for attention and many other greedy reasons... what a powerful vent... let the drama kings and queens play by themselves for we have better things to do.

ha! great piece here Victoria....it does seem like a stage play sometimes....as those wonderful lies are bought hook, line and sinker by the masses....as you sit back, knowing the truth, knowing the lie....wondering how long the illusion will hold up. I loved the ending here - as the truth comes back to haunt the director of the drama play....fantastic vent here....and so so true.

*hugs*

There is a lot of pain in this peice, and I think everyone who reads it will be able to identify with pieces from it, I know I certainly can. I loved it. I think it's some very good work.

I am dealing with a situation like this at work. i am waiting for the final curtain to fall and the drama to be over.

good poem to express how we all feel at one point or another.
