Gypsy Woman

Gypsy Woman

A Poem by Vin

Gypsy woman!
Where have you been ?
Gone too long,
don’t you know that’s a sin?
It’s been three nights,
and four more days
Oh, you know you put me in a daze!

I’ve been down by the mountain side,
Giving life to a river that died,
I’m a flower, wild and free,
Live my life for swaying in the breeze.

Then by the fire, she dances at night,
Her body bending, bends my mind,
Oh, she makes me feel alright,
Blinks her eyes in fireflies,

I’m the fire in your eyes,
The ember glowing in your mind,
I’m the coal beneath your feet,
Oh, that woman got me, on my knees!

Reading the first paragraph, I had to think: a gypsy needs to be free & it's impossible to capture her into some existing paradigm this guy may have to put her into a box where he can "keep" her. Then the poem turns a different tune, showing strong details about how he became entranced by her. These two parts of your poem form the conflict I've lived with all my life. Guys are attracted to my wild nature, but then they want to tame me. I enjoy it when a writer portrays the duality of human nature & you've done this well (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Very cute! Gives a sense of real freedom within nature. I loved the comparison to eyes and fireflies.

"Blinks her eyes like fireflies". How evocative a piece is this. The fire and dancing and even the word "Gypsy", sets my imagination alight.

Reviews are nice, but don't you feel, as a writer, that keeping going is a 'need', reviews or not?

Awe! A pleasure indeed :)
Lyrics. I hear music here Vin. Full of imagery as well. Plenty of movement with that dancing. Fireflies always create ambience. Now who is going to sing it. He is going to need a strong, sexy voice. Enjoyed.
