Beautiful Soul

Beautiful Soul

A Poem by Sage
"

Everyone has that one person that they are sure is their soulmate, a person with whom they have some sort of connection. Sometimes those feelings can be put in words.

"
Beautiful soul

You were standing there
With your lovely flowing hair
you seemed like a goddess, I swear
With you, I'd walk everywhere

You made my heart skip more than one beat
That, my lady is no ordinary feat
Your eyes, and your smile so sweet
And your heart, like a clean white sheet

I realised, in love I fell
Without you it wasn't hell,
But you know Oh well,
Only on thoughts of you my heart would dwell

It did not matter if it was love or hate,
All I knew was that we were bound by fate
Seeing you, my heart rate elevates
Being with you was more than great!

In your heart, my love I had to chart
Then I decided and I dressed sharp,
I went ahead to steel my heart
And steal your heart

Success! My boat finally reached your shore
You and I are now a complete whole
Together, we shall grow old
For you are my beautiful soul

A very sweet poem on a popular but meaningful theme. I particularly love the last two lines. Also your use of "steel" and "steal" in successive lines was a very good play on words. It does a good job of portraying someone who must brace oneself for the worst before they go in for love, which is something that I know I feel when I really like someone.

I love your work. I see heart and depth in your style. In my opinion, I think the beauty of your message may be getting held back somewhat by rhyme and that is not unusual under rules. I would really love to see what you could do with this in fluid prose. I do love your work. Consider it a fans request. I'm surely not complaining ! You are very good at rhyming. I am wrong everyday so if you don't feel my opinion is on target. No problem, it's just an opinion. This is an "A" review. Peace

you are really good at rhyming. that is something I do not have the patience to do so much.. I really like how you used the words steel and steal in the same stanza.. good work. soul mates are often.. such an odd thing- soul recognition. I cant really describe what happens. I remember being told that "we are kindred souls" and it is true.. you can tell in a lot of my writing that I write of that connection. it touches you and always will be with you, regardless..

my pleasure
This poems reminds me of the traditional sonnet but yet with a mixture of a modern sonnet.
This poem show and feel like a fusion between old and new just like the binding of two souls coming together, forsaking their old paths to walk a new path together.
Well written with a very good rhythm. I really enjoyed reading it.
