Darling

Darling

A Poem by A. V. Madison
"

It's about asking your beloved to kill you when they leave. Morbid, but beautiful.

"
Days grow long
when I'm in your arm
days drag on
like the ticking of a time bomb
set to go off
when you're least expecting it

Darling, darling, darling
Don't get yourself hurt
Darling, darling, darling
leave me in the dirt

Oh, drive the anger into the wine
oh, release the thorned vines
oh, darling I can't hide
I can't hide
Oh, the needle burning deep
raging fire in my sleep
oh, darling, do one last thing for me.

Darling, darling, darling
Don't get yourself hurt
Darling, darling, darling,
leave me in the dirt

Nights burning bright in gold
Retrieve a tainted hand to hold
flag waving in the sky
goodbye, goodbye

Darling, darling, darling
Don't get yourself hurt
Darling, darling, darling,
leave me in the dirt
