Cannibalistic Dogs

Cannibalistic Dogs

A Poem by The Warrior Poet
"

Dog eat dog world... Empathy and insanity; what do dreams look life for the truly insane?

"

Cannibalistic Dogs

Sadly I walked the concrete path

passing glass panes reflecting past pains and sorrows,

trying to find, in that dog-eat-dog world,

something that made some sense.

Behind me is a well, empty, dry of all dreams,

where a straight jacket shell awaits me.

So onward I push, freeing myself

from the laughing, crying, and hating.

Silent, soft, white hell around me,

a canine in the corner of this padded cell, I lay curled.

No pain or emotion - insanity's ocean between me

and that cold, hard, dead dog-eat-dog world.

I understand this poem. Sometime kindness and good people are hard to find. I was raised in Detroit. The Army taught me family and team work. Before the military. I was a wild dog. The poem is outstanding. I like this story.
"So onward I push, freeing myself
from the laughing, crying, and hating."
Strong statement create a powerful poem. Thank you.

I love the sentence: "Behind me is a well, empty, dry of all dreams,

where a straight jacket shell awaits me."
