Lingering in Limbo

Lingering in Limbo

A Poem by WillaDanvers

Lingering in Limbo

This limbo that we linger in,

Tastes of uncertainty, of pressure,

I can feel that you are standing here,

But you are somewhere beyond my sight,

I want to reach and comfort you,

But how can I do that with so much of this,

I know you can feel all of this too,

This want to move on, without the knowledge of how,

Taking a step forward, is a chance,

It may result in many further steps,

But then you see,

It may result in ruining everything we have,

I feel the warning signs screaming,

The look of surprise standing in your eye,

The open mouth, and wordless atmosphere,

And now here we are, stranded,

I would say the ball is in your court,

But of that I am not sure,

Was your reaction your handing the ball back,

Is it up to me now to fix this damage?

I don’t think I can lose you completely,

That I could simply not bear,

So here I will sit, and ponder,

Until I can find reason for us to survive,

This limbo that we linger in,

Is cold and treacherous,

Not a place one wants to stay in long,

Not a place on wants to ever visit,

I want to reach out and feel your presence,

To connect with your very being as I used to,

To wipe clean the slate I smashed,

I want to be the reason for the smile you share,

This silence is killing me,

I can’t see you without breaking,

I can’t talk to you without feeling idiotic,

Not since you left me alone in limbo,

You made our decision, your decision,

You left me wandering alone cursing,

Cursing the actions, I had taken,

Cursing the premonitions, I had failed to have,

I miss cursing the world by your side,

I miss the insults you ne’er failed to hurl my way,

The way we connected without sharing words,

The way we were us, without a title,

I saw something that wasn’t there,

I was living in a different world than you,

You saw no more than friends,

No more than two people, sharing joy,

No more do we laugh without bounds,

Here I stand, tremor in heart,

There you go, leaving your answer hanging in air,

No longer uncertain, I bid adieu to the limbo we shared.

Holy crap! So good! God I felt my heart aching as I read this. Especially "This silence is killing me,
I can’t see you without breaking,
I can’t talk to you without feeling idiotic,
Not since you left me alone in limbo," Cut me deep to the soul. So relateable to me at least and the imagery of Limbo is so true after a sepration from one you love. You are just left there not sure of were to go! Such a grat poem 100/100!! Keep up the freat work!
