Sweetest Memory

Sweetest Memory

A Poem by Tiny Drop

Sleep is a blessing when it arrives at my doorsteps...

The mattress sinks with my weight
And I feel like I am, again, merely eight
Lying awake in my bed while mom sings to me
Enchanted stories of dragons and ladybugs
About their friends and perilous journeys
I laugh to myself and hug her to my chest
Her scent is still the same
That comforting warmth is still there
Even if only in my memories.

Her eyes twinkle and mine smile back at hers
There is a mystery hidden in her arms
So I dive in and feel her breath tickle my face
How good it is to be young again!
And feel her chest in my cheek
Her heartbeat beating next to me
It's so good to see those beautiful eyes
That will always live in mine

You will always live in my best dreams
And in my sweetest memories.
