Nightside of Eden

Nightside of Eden

A Poem by Mira
"

I wrote this a while ago and I can't find the real version so here it is as best as I can remember it.

"

Little girl don't cry
Where did you learn it wouldn't be alright?
Sometimes things happen,
Everyone gets this way.
It isn't your fault.

He showed you the Nightside,
I had feared as much.
It's a dangerous place,
Don't go back.
He loves you, he says?
Don't believe him.

I pick you up and dust you off as best as I can.
I always do.
I beg you to stay,
But you think he loves you.

He shows you the Nightside.
Then he leaves you there to cry.
Don't go back I say,
But you do it again and again.

I fix you up as best as I can,
But girl you just don't listen.
He shos you the Nightside again and again,
It kills you everytime to go.
You just don't see it.

I fixed you for the last time,
I told you if you went back that was it.
You did anyway.
No thought to the best friend you were leaving behind.

He took took to the Nightside,
This time he locked you in.
You found your key in the way of a ring.
You thought it was for you.

After he took you there again,
You thought he'd give it to you.
But this time all he said was,
"Have you met my fiancee?"

You were locked in again.
But this time you found a different key.
That simple knife would make it end.
He would love you again if he saw.

We found you too late.
It wasn't enough,
No matter what anyone did you save you.
Sometimes you can't be fixed,
And I have tried to tell myself that.

I sit by your stone as I write this.
I don't know why I'm here.
You prefer the Nightside.
You never gave a thought to the best friend you left behind.
I suppose since I was always the one to fix you,
I want you to know.

Author's Note

Mira
The original version was so much better, but I think you get the idea. If I find the real one I'll post it. Also, it sounds better with the proper music playing. You read it while listining to the right song and you'll cry your heart out. I'll leave you to figure it out though.
Caio, Mira.

what strikes me most is the natural internal rhythm- quite lyrical and descriptive. I like that aspect of being drawn to the nightside, its as if being drawn to the darkside, depthfully well written!
