Monkey and Banana

There was a monkey in the rafter

Whose voice was filled with laughter

It spied a banana on the ground

And quickly jumped down after.

The banana saw him coming

And split for higher ground

Giving the poor old monkey

Quite the run-a-round.

Finally the chase had ended

Their differences were suspended

The banana knew when he did slip

It was over, and the monkey did grip

And on the seat, in the rafters at last

The monkey sat and ate his breakfast.
