The River Serene

The River Serene

A Chapter by Wolfwind

The river flows so serene and slow

Eyes watch for movement

The waves ripple sweet and tranquil

Eyes seek with ancient hunger

The day is fresh as sunlight glistens

Eyes vanish in a subtle swirl

Feet cool as water splashes

Eyes no more, the smell intense

Laughter lifts as the day moves along

Sustenance is just above....

A scream

A pull

A child a fright

A mom

A dad

Angels might

Tears flow

Moms arms

Dads soft voice

The gator goes hungry once again.
