~ Puppet Psychosis

~ Puppet Psychosis

A Poem by
"

~ Ourselves imagined in the world of psychosis, as someone very dear to me struggles with this...

"

~ Puppet Psychosis

Inscrutable cans

Hidden in those thoughts

A dream alive

An illusion of reality

Nor obscured by the mind

The living walk by the

Spirit in full consciousness

Trapped by defects

Tired by thoughts

Together a whole

In the power of the senses

Each uniquely interwoven

To a whole universal touch

The puppets dance schizophrenic

On the canvas of the mind

Each one with its own

Dance, to the last gasp

Wake up, wake up

And realize that you had shared a

Quartered, of your time

At your own waking dream

The title for this one really grabbed my attention! I was looking forward to dive into this one, and I wasn't dissapointed !!! Puppets as inanimated objects, puppets as children toys, puppets as hopeless human beings, going through the routine, having their strings pulled by an unseen presence... "The puppets dance schizophrenic" There is such power and rythym in your words, they scream to be repeated and to be taken far across the land! Your style is quite unique, halfway between reality (the heart) and dreamland (the imagination). "At your own waking dream" indeed... Another fascinating read, thank you for sharing!

This is a deep, intriguing write which perfectly describes the layers of our inner self. I think we all suffer from different milder versions o psychosis- any creative mind can have experiences of living in a world that is detached from the external.
Coming back to the poem - this is not only a carefully penned down poem, but at the same time it portrays in an intricate fashion the numerous integrating and disintegrating canvases of the psychological being and the turmoil that plays onto them. A powerful, profound write Emily. Going to my Favorites :)

Your poem is quite mystical and mysterious... you really captured how hard it is for us to understand those with certain mental eccentricities... I have a sister with a chemical imbalance... coarse when we were young we thought she was just a drama queen, then understood her actions when she was diagnosed later in life.

My Father was always a kind, thoughtful, and very deep thinking man. He has Dementia now and has attacked people with a coat hanger, and made lewd suggestions to nurses (my father is a deeply religious catholic). The mind is just another organ which is scary as hell considering who we are, comes from there somewhere. Good write, made me think.

A nice dark piece looking into the messed up minds of the real world. Can anyone genuinely say their mind is pure? There must be something slightly wrong with everyone - which is what I felt the line 'each with it's own dance' said to me :) An interesting one, certainly. Always pleasant to read psychologically tinted poetry. :)

I love the inner ticking of the psych, I think science and pharmaceutics try to stuff what they can not pin onto stick boards into a bottle, there is so much phenomena going on today, that if one tried to speak about it the first reaction a person listening would have... would be to call the white coats, so they can label them and drug them...and put them somewhere "safe" away from the herds that wear blinders and that don't ask questions. " the normal ones" . It just makes me wonder how many "gifted" people that are psychics or mediums that "see"; the future and have visions and conversations with what or will happen in the future; have been misdiagnosed and thrown into pill bottles or worse ...cells.
I wish we could clone you and send you out into the world :)
