 ~ The Eye

He stood in the eye, and danced

On the Iris, turning circles like

He was waiting for salvation

As the wind could bring

Velveteen wings, to his body

To carry him away,

Out from that place where he

Couldn't root as much as he adored

Yet her eye, merged with light

Of the sunbeams, mirrored

The effect between what she felt

Drowned in tears, of happiness

And his long desire to touch her

By knowing he would see her

In three days, separated from now

Where two could melt together in one

In their place of rest of the week

Was illuminating the thought and patience

Their hang out to dance by cold winters

In the snow, and laugh and jump

With La Luna of light above them

Made each warm inside,

Visions, in the next week to another

Each time anew as the years passed

Another day dreamt away, yet two to go

She danced in the eye of future,

He embraced her in their

Sparkling mirrored connection

On both retinas, blood pumping desire

To see an eye of true love

Eye in eye, face to face

As days past by all became the weekly

Love counting years of today

Very beautiful expression here. The eyes definitely if watched closely can tell a story. This story of love and devotion are sweet. The longing after an absence we can relate too. This story was captivating and exquisite. I love reading your words.

The movement of this piece is so . . . soothing. To have the ability to look someone in the eye and read their thoughts, if only everyone had someone like that to trust.

Beautiful words Elisa, a true love story. Your words here paint a wonderful picture of the longing of the heart and mind in seperation, waiting to be together once more. Those moments inbetween, where your mind tricks you into thinking that, not only is time standing still, but must be moving in reverse, and the heart feels that missing piece.

These are some of the most beautiful words that I have read:

He stood in the eye, and danced
On the Iris, turning circles like
He was waiting for salvation

The whole poem is simply gorgeous but that image is imprinted on my retina. What a fabulous fabulous poem.

when separated days seem like centuries...i feel this poem because i am in a long distance relationship...every night phone calls have to suffice between real physical meetings...

and when the time comes close...we are jumping out of our shoes...

wonderful words....a couple spots.."didn't rooted as much as he adored" that line with the one before it is a little awkward.

and another spot...did you mean "where two could melt together"

all in all...this is a lovely love poem...we can feel the longing.
