Why Do We Fight?

Why Do We Fight?

A Poem by Vicky Zhuang Yi-Yin
"

Fighting only causes pain and more hate, so why do we fight?

"
Blood and tears
Across the land
For all these years
War out of hand

Fight and fears
In our hearts
All these differences
Tear us apart

Why do we fight?
Why do we hate?
From all of this
Do we assimilate?

Blades and bullets
Go through bodies
All these deaths
Who has the culpability?

Hope and freedom
Words forgotten
All this anger
Can it be forgiven?

Why do we fight?
Why do we hate?
From all of this
Do we assimilate?

Family and friends
Strangers and foes
All are humans
Why make woes?

Sadness and cruelty
Rule night and day
All these grievances
Chase friendly words away

Why do we fight?
Why do we hate?
From all of this
Do we assimilate?

Your question is the question so many ask everyday. I believe 99 per cent of this world want a safe place to live, a job and enough food to feed the family. Hate is taught by leaders pushing lies and stories. I hope for peace so all people can know peace and freedom.

We fight & hate because it's the way of the world.
That is why there are so many wars. People may say No
but it's true. This is a wonderful write. So full of feelings.
