This is the Pain

This is the Pain

A Poem by Vicky Zhuang Yi-Yin
"

the pain lies deep within the depths of reality...

"
Discriminated
Decisions made against me
Injustice builds around me
This is the pain of reality

Betrayed
Stabbed in the back
On every side there is deception
This is the pain of love and affection

Killed
Beaten into a pulp
Ending all this horrible strife
This is the pain of life

Suppressed
Forced to keep my mouth shut
Voices do not echo properly
This is the pain of equality

Abandoned
Left outside alone
All around me is the coldness
This is the pain of happiness

Shattered
No longer in existence
No mark, no accomplishments it seems
This is the pain of dreams

Lost
Forgot my way
No one around me in this loneliness
This is the pain of togetherness

Depressed
The knife close to my heart
There is no use in believing anymore
This is the pain of hope

I believe the world is better. But still a lot of fear and hate. I was lucky and raised in the city of Detroit. I learn to respect and understand the mix culture of the big city. A lot of people need to learn. We all want the same. Be left alone to our life. A good job and a home to rest. Color and race should of been tossed aside with the death of the great men like Martin Luther king and kennedy's brothers. My father taught me never except being treated lower then another. He went to prison for a man talking bad about his latino/Ojibwa brown skin. A powerful poem. Everyone feel alone and afraid. We need to find the good people. A outstanding poem.

Hello Vicky,

This is indeed the pain in the reality that we call life. It is full of ups and downs, and we all seem to focus on all the downs. Natural part of life. An excellent write.

Regards,

Matthew
