Lost

We're all lost until we're found. Sometimes you have to find yourself.

I am lost.
I'm not the only one.
We are all lost,
until we are found.
Sometimes we are found by others.
Sometimes we must find ourselves.
I have been found by others,
but I am still lost.
Lost in the darkness.
I can see the light,
but I am afraid of it.
The light shows us the truth.
It shows us the path.
The path we are supposed to walk.
The path to be good, truthful, righteous etc.
I have seen this path,
but I am afraid of it and the light that shines on it.
It is easier to be lost.
To be lost in the darkness.
The dark is comforting.
The dark is freedom.
To be whatever you want.
To be whoever you want.
Without expectations, rules or judgement.
People are free to be their true selves in the dark.
But shine light on this,
and it changes everything.
Of course i want to be good.
To walk the path that the light shows us.
But I am afraid.
Afraid of the change.
Afraid of what might be revealed.
To both myself and the world.
Perhaps one day this will change,
but for now I shall remain in the dark.
I am lost.
But I do not fear the dark.
