Infidelity: Part I- A Wife's Fury

Infidelity: Part I- A Wife's Fury

A Poem by Blue
"

to the mistress

"
You are a lovely woman
with face inviting envy.
You have curvaceous figure
and lips that taste like honey.
It's no surprise, my sweetheart,
he's under such a spell.
I just dropped by to say hello
and hope that all is well.

He must have had forgotten
to mention me to you.
But see, he's fond of secrets.
(I trust you know that, too!)
He never even told me
you're all he's thinking about.
And yes, I was so shocked, my dear,
when I did figure out.

He was never himself these days,
coming home at dawn.
Whenever I took off my clothes
he's not at all turned on.
And so, one night, I watched him sleep
and knew he's not the same.
He moaned aloud his words of love;
It's no longer my name.

We used to be the perfect pair
until you came along.
So don't you dare give me that look
as if you've done no wrong.
Let's stop this act because I know
you well-devised the games.
If you keep playing, soon you'll see
the danger of your flames.

Oh, gorgeous girl, heed my advice:
Run while you still can.
Nothing spells more trouble than
stealing another's man.
And one more thing, remember this
if you cherish your life:
The next time that you fall in love,
he shouldn't have a wife.

Thank you as always, Leslie.
The web of the mistress is spun and continuing to grow...
Who will be with him in the end?
Why is it that the mistress is the one at fault?
The husband strayed and broke his vows. Is he worth fighting for....now?
This is a great write, and I think you did well. However, she is not the whole problem.
He needs to avoid this situation all together--if he is taken.
It surprises me when a wife goes after the mistress because I have been in this situation with my first husband. He cheated! It was not the mistress that I blamed, and I did not seek her out. I got rid of the problem--HIM!
He took the vows--not her.
Society needs to wake up. There is not a good reason to keep a cheater!
I enjoyed reading this, and you have captured the perspective of many wives, but I am not one of them, and I will never be one like that. It always takes two--they are both in the wrong. However, he is worse in my book. Thanks for writing this and sharing it. It shows the belief of many wives, even though I feel it is off the mark.
You weaved the tangled web, and the feelings involved with a spiteful wife that is lashing out, and trying to save her marriage at all costs. It is called True devotion. Sorry for my rant.

Well-crafted and emotionally stirring...you've told this story with incredible precision and the effect it has on the reader remains after the poem has been read. Great work :)

Thank you so much!
A lot of truth here although I believe the wife's fury should be directed at the spouse. The husband is the one who made the commitment and from the sound of things they may have been perfect on the outside but not the in.

Thank you, Mike.
This is an AMAZING write.
Going in my library for sure.
How in the world did you come up with this?
I love the whole story line to it, its hard to rhyme and make it sound so natural to, but you did it.
The rhyming was amazing, as was the whole story line.
I loved the ending was a perfect ending :)
Brilliantly penned Blue :)
