Infidelity: Part I- A Wife's Fury

Infidelity: Part I- A Wife's Fury

A Poem by Blue
"

to the mistress

"
You are a lovely woman
with face inviting envy.
You have curvaceous figure
and lips that taste like honey.
It's no surprise, my sweetheart,
he's under such a spell.
I just dropped by to say hello
and hope that all is well.

He must have had forgotten
to mention me to you.
But see, he's fond of secrets.
(I trust you know that, too!)
He never even told me
you're all he's thinking about.
And yes, I was so shocked, my dear,
when I did figure out.

He was never himself these days,
coming home at dawn.
Whenever I took off my clothes
he's not at all turned on.
And so, one night, I watched him sleep
and knew he's not the same.
He moaned aloud his words of love;
It's no longer my name.

We used to be the perfect pair
until you came along.
So don't you dare give me that look
as if you've done no wrong.
Let's stop this act because I know
you well-devised the games.
If you keep playing, soon you'll see
the danger of your flames.

Oh, gorgeous girl, heed my advice:
Run while you still can.
Nothing spells more trouble than
stealing another's man.
And one more thing, remember this
if you cherish your life:
The next time that you fall in love,
he shouldn't have a wife.

Just empty threats, Donald. I am never attracted to violence. Haha. Thank you.
Blue, this was very well written and I can't think anyone wouldn't get the message. Loud and clear my friend.

The aggressive nature of the piece allows the reader to ponder the debts, well done, good read.

Thank you, Thomas.
Honey ... these days she might have used the man to get to the wife ... you just can't tell ... but for something with some social commitment this poem is the cream on the cake. Nice one.

Haha. Your words just made me smile. Thank you, Dayran.
I really enjoyed it. The idea of actually rhyming in a passive aggressive manner also. Nice.

My pleasure.
Hell hath the fury! I just loved this write for it's expression of anger and I loved the confidence with which you did it. I had written a similar poem on this subject some time back. It was named "SAY NO".
Have a lovely day.
