As you lay sleeping

I watch you there

As you lay sleeping

I wonder where you are

 

Are you in the land of dreams?

Are you far, far away?

Are you in a good place?

Where you are happy and safe…

 

When you are on this side

Your life seems unbearable

You don’t want to live it

You don’t want to go on

 

The complexities of life, of love

To learn to live with it or let it go

To make the best of any given situation

To forget about the past and go on with the present

 

The future is not set

It is what we make of it

Life and love, honor and loyalty

The heart and soul

The importance of it all…

 

All this I wonder

As I watch you there

In the morning light

As you lay sleeping….

My favorite poem. lovely. The way you've written this is so expertly done. This is one oF my favorite pieces ever!!! Ok, so I say that a lot, but I do mean it.
