A Moments Thought

I sit at the highest peak,

Aglow with the breath of life

On a mountain where winds

Of feeling blow:

Some gently sooth my cheeks

Whilst others graze my skin.

An aura rings my bare chest

As a twisting golden gust

That strikes toward my heart

Empathically

The way no other wind

Would dare to impress me.

Within the sky of moment

When fires light my eyes

I see you meandering

Smiling back

In a second, you vanish,

Off chasing other dreams.

And yet I remain here

Awaiting your return

For an eternity

Felt too damn short

But long enough to see

You may never come back.

‘No matter what’ I will say

And remain here I shall

To dream a perfect dream

Of you and I

That might or never be

I sit here inclined to see.

If there is one feeling I love in life, it is that even when someone leaves our life, we always have their memory. You portrayed always having that memory well in this poem. Sometimes the good memories out weigh the quantity of time spent. Enjoyed this poem. I even felt the crispness of the air while reading it.
