A Chapter by Akshay Rawal
"

This is a free-verse I wrote some time ago. Is a bit heartfelt. Hope you enjoy it.

"

I see only me.

Or better, I see nothing

But what I'm doing

I let you do you.

You're chaos too like me, won't do me.

So I do my own thing.

I have a path

I grow like a tree.

Only wider, wiser.

I know failure

A lot. Pain  too.

Imminent ones. So I live 'em too.

When I fail.

It's natural to

Keep trying, cause I'm curious

What's beyond the wall

I just wanna go beyond the wall.

Forgot to keep in mind

How others are doing.

Maybe I'll figure out myself

I'd be better able to help 'em that way.

Attraction attracts me

But I want the beauty

To linger around longer,

So I procure an environment

Of comfort and forwardness.

So she stays around,

Finds solace to her chaos.

I'm beyond comparison

Envious only of my future self.

So I dream big

So that one day,

my past self looks up to me.

Scarcity motivates me.

Keeps me burning,

The fire sheds off darkness around me

And I can better figure out the way.

Amidst my concubines,

Action is my soulmate.

I'm made for action

Lot of thought goes

I internalize, so one day

I act right without thinking much.

I'm the perfect self

I'll never be able to attain

I'll defy my own nature

Enslave my mind

Contain my spirits of instinct

I'll be walking a tight line.

Borderline obsession

Bits of inconsideration here and there

Lots of mistakes on the way.

Lots of accountability to gulp in

My feelings will eat on my fuel

Of motivation, drowning me

Into basics of instincts.

In the end, it won't matter

If you were a loser, or a winner

If you lost, but liked your journey of life,

You lived a happy life.

If you won, but kept feelings s****y

your entire life

The prize won't seem worth it.

The journey is the prize.

The process is the reward.

The experience is the ultimate wisdom.

Your journey is the assessment of your destiny, not the size of your deathbed.

Each second you spend.

Is a reward you give to yourself.

Pleasure will make you

Ultimately miserable.

Cause you'll be immune to the high

Effort and struggles will make you

Love yourself even more.

Ambition, Purpose, is all

about making that journey

worth going through.

the journey is what

enlightens you.

Destination's just a harbinger of crisis.

"Action is my soulmate." This is my favorite line in a poem filled with wonderful lines! Such empowering words. A great philosophy. Keep going, jump the hurdles, never give up! If you can be proud of yourself by comparing yourself only to YOU, you will surely achieve greatness. This poem is like a pep rally for anyone who feels down and out. Really wonderful. Lydi**

The failure we made was not by a choice, despite a failure itself could cause pain towards oneself. I love how you described the pain in a vulnerable manner, it really touched my heart especially when you wrote "I know failure, a lot and pain too" because it's one of the things that we can never avoid while we're still breathing. But the way you said that the "Journey is a price and a process is a reward," gave it justice, saying that we shouldn't give up on our journey just because we failed instead we should continue growing and learn from our mistake. Thanks for sharing!
