the light

the light

A Chapter by alan peter kelly

the light exists

within each of us

no one will compare

or hold candle

for a closer view

until first

the switch is on

in you

as nightmares turn

to daydreams

in myriad

incandescent hue

as time takes toll

on those who wait

too long for perfect

cupid's due

as shadows stretch

their arms

ready

for the last adieu

light exists

within each of us

the switch must

first be on

in you

. beautiful ... and so profound and so true ... your words flow freely and take the reader on a transformational journey ... and the lines you repeat in the end ... add that exceptionally poetic ... magical touch ... the use of the word "switch" is brilliant ... learnt lots ...

I like the simplicity of the "switch." Works well as indicator that attention's tilt toward awareness is accepting responsibility for choice.

I'd like to add that darkness is not merely absence of light, or a problem, it is also the fruitful silent essence of Tao.

That said, this poem travels "light," as it were, ;-) and adds to the soul intelligence of the species, so hats off, switch on, good work.

And by saying such you have not only found the light in you..but gone a step ahead and sharing it with those who maybe still are struggling on life's path trying to comprehend that indeed the light is within us.
A beautiful write and very wise words.

This is wonderful!
That light becomes increasingly more buried with lies through the powers that be of late!
Awesome work!
