Slices of Life

Slices of Life

A Poem by Alisa Js
"

Observations from the other side of sanity.

"
sitting beside these garden treasures
I welcomed the sense of safety surrounding the lucky bamboo
and smooth gray stones, aligned just so
It wouldn't be the first time I found myself here
and almost certainly wouldn't be the last

somehow in the midst of this magic
a small world appeared on its own
and in a wink, i traveled there.
quietly and without sound
while that other world most relate to or think of
continued to chug along, obliviously

this tiny space
seemingly so safe and protected
from the outer world at large,
existed right along side
and I wondered how many others there were

other dimensions
filled with various life forms
all very much alive and very real

is it possible to conceive of parallel universes
somehow all contained within and around
this planet, we call home?
time travelers,
levels of consciousness
known to some and to others,
completely invisible ...

Only the shadow knows. Sorry. Nice work and I love the way phrase. I like the parallel universe within our own. There is much of this world and life we do not know and will never know and understand.

:: what a incredibly magical piece of writing, sweet alisa... i relate to these thoughts a lot... perhaps because i relentlessly question the contours of sanity (as defined by my society)... :P :: one of my dad's brothers was once compelled to check into a loony bin... and he walked out of there... two days later... in a doctor's lab coat... pretending he was a doctor... he wasn't sent back... somehow, everyone got the message that there was nothing 'wrong' with him... :: well, as you can see, i am completely mesmerized by this piece of poetry and it has triggered a million thoughts and a million memories... :)
