Lost at Sea

Lost at Sea

A Poem by Laz K.

I feel the warmth

Of your hand

In my hand yet

My fingers remain curled

Like the claws

Of a dead bird

I tried, but

Couldn’t fight

The currents

Invisible underneath

And so, our little boats

Now drift on alone

Wooden cradles

Wooden caskets

Slaves to the winds

And their whims

Slaves to hope

And her siren songs

Slaves to silence

Slaves to solitude

Slaves to memories

That persist, insist, intrude

              Myriad souls lost at sea

Gone blind searching the horizon

Gone mad

With loneliness

With waiting

Their sighs are

The wind in our hair

Their tears are

The salt in the sea

              The compass in my heart

Will show me the way

Through storms

And wild waves

That rise and swell

Till we are joined together again

Like two halves of a pearly shell

Feelings of elsewhere and somewhere the riposte storms clawing the speaker's heart. In the line "Gone blind searching the horizon Gone mad With loneliness." Appears to be suggestive of pain yet propels your eyes through searching your love even though distracted by beautiful melodies sung by sirens. The measures of love and phobias how in the end the ambitious protagonist sails endlessly to find his true love in the atmosphere of mitigating storms. Winston Churchill said once " Smooth seas doesn't make a skilled sailor." Keep writing sincerely your friend in writing and life :)

Thank you!
If a relationship is meant to be, it will be no matter how many times circumstance intervenes and tries to break it apart. Your writing is so emotional....so honest. We fight for what we know is worth it in this life. Well written, Laz. Lydi**

Thank you. I truly appreciate your comments.
The hardships of sea. Tales of cold heroic tragedy. Beautiful faces left behind knowing this was the task. This is the job. Adventure stories by the candle. I truly enjoyed this.

I like this, it's kinda like staring directly into the sun, where it all makes you blind, where you don't want to feel anything anymore. very good well written write here
