DEALINGS WITH DESTINY.

DEALINGS WITH DESTINY.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

From a pack of cards
You're told to select
Any card from the deck
And make or break
Your path will be set.
Choose a heart
You'll love in time.
Choose a club
You'll do the crime.
Choose a spade
You'll dig your grave.
Choose a diamond
Your fortune's made.
A simple choice, make or break,
Just select then live your fate.

This is such a creepy poem. I love it! Thinking if this was real life, I'd definitely be screwed. Haha. Well done!

P.S. Would you mind checking out my novel, HIM? Before sending it off for publishing, I'd love it if I could have as much constructive criticism as possible. (:

Hi Brittney so sorry I've just come across your lovely review. I shall look him up!:0
A somber note in this one Andrew with clever use to 'suit' the piece with its challenge.

A very smart write
I am a fan of playing cards

I really enjoyed this playful piece
Then again its second nature to swing by Monsieur Andrew's work of art and feel all light and smiley

I really enjoyed the wit of this poem, and how you connected all the card's choices to one direction or 'fate' that the person will take. I think we all can break our own lives, without the help of cards :):)

I really like the metaphor. You have to play the hand you are dealt, sometimes it is not a good hand and you have to keep playing until it shines in your favour. Very well written.
