THE UNKNOWN

THE UNKNOWN

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Oh Moonlight! Moonlight!
Light me a path
There's an eerie chill in this night so dark.
Spectral forces are taking shape.
I cannot see. Is there no escape?
So come out ,come out, And be my guide
From behind those clouds where you hide
And show some light, I don't want to stray,
For I'm so frightened of come what may.

'THE UNKNOWN'
Andrew Mitchell,
I like the call to the saving hope of night light in the first line which sets the tone:
"Oh Moonlight! Moonlight! I can surly understand the need for something to bring
structure in darkness.
Second line:
'Light me a path.'
Yes who knows what may be hiding in the shadows?
But the upward change of mood from a little
fearful to the good of the moon-
'So come out, come out, and be my guide.
From behind those clouds where you hide.
This was fun to imagine and walk
along in your adventure.
Blessings,
Kathy

Hi Andrew. I think you are becoming more adventurous!! Great to see. Your rhymes are really tightening up and the cadence is getting a real lilt to it. Love this one, showing the timorous awe of the night in such a brilliant way, alf
