Aye! A cast of shadows thick I tell you!

Aye! A cast of shadows thick I tell you!

A Poem by andrew mitchell
"

Two shadows talking!

"
While a small shadow speaks,
the congregation
of shadows gather,
a black mass rising.

Hi! Fancy meeting you here!
What have you been up too?

Oh! Nothing dramatic!
Just following as per the norm.

Could be worse!
Imagine, if you were a sheep's shadow!
Sheep following each other blindly,
and then you, following the sheep.

No thanks! I perish the thought!

So you're still tagged to the courier driver then?
Yep! Same old same old!
Running, walking, stopping, jumping,
around black city landscapes, moving cars,
dodging city lights, you know!

And You?
Oh I'm going to be cast
in a new movie Excalibur.
My owner gets, stabbed, sliced,
burnt at the stake, but I'll be fine,
I'm cast on the ground.

Not again?
Yes! I have very few lines
all depending on the sun
but like you
I do cover some ground.

Well, nice to see you!
You look good dressed in black.

You too! I like your dark grey, suits you!

 Thanks! Good luck!
 Bye!

This is bizarre, but interesting. Who would have thought of two shadows having a conversation?
I enjoy your "warped sense of humour." Sometimes things are just what they are...things. Don't bother trying to analyze or make sense out of them, they are what they are, two shadows having a friendly conversation.
Genius, if you ask me.

Exactly just that two shadows conversing. Thank you so much for your review on a fictional story .
Seems a private chat between self and self.. trying to decide which path to travel! Perhaps indecision or an instinct that tells a being to hide, stay in the shadows rather than make for the spotlight? Might have to read again, decide or .. change my mind, such as it is, andrew!

Thank you Ken for your words and praise. Cheers.
These are the sort of shadows I meet going down the road to obscurity.
They all have stories to tell. But you always know they've got your back.

Thank you Paul and yes they do have your back lol.
I like the ambiguity of this poems sometimes an internal dialogue some times a quick conversation in passing. Every day colloquial and yet by the juxtapositions building a poem of events. Cool
