I thought it was too little, too late and the Catholic Church being a very rich institution could have donated money for the cause on healing those who need it. But it’s a small step forward however some things are unforgivable and words are cheap no matter who you are. What did you think Gene? Take care bro!

I think it was symbolic only .. we are talking 300 years ago .. no one today has a dog in the fight .. if I can use "fight" very figuratively ... i think there is much good the Catholic Church .. and all the Chritian Churches do in the way of giving .. and all composed of human beings with both strengths and weaknesses .. and all in need of being forgiven ... i am on the last two beers in me larder brother ... i raise me mug to you sir .. a fine little poem and enriching forum for me!!

The Catholic Church is responsible for many cover ups in regards to abuse to minors at the hands of these practitioners. A hypocrisy I say

Your words ring true ... Sadly, religion has been the real problem for oh so many people. These issues show up in the writings of many poets.
Interesting that in just a few simple words you were able to catch my attention and make me sit back and think... Then, I went back several times to reread your words and think some more.
I see you have 63 view and now only two reviews! Perhaps those 63 views are still thinking?
