"Hatred" & "Looking Back"

"Hatred" & "Looking Back"

A Poem by Amanda J. S.

Two poems I wrote today ^^

Hatred...

image

Hate..

A feeling I once was so easy to develop.

But not anymore.

I feel like I can’t hate,

And I know why:

I don’t put people in boxes.

I know that there are a thousand sides to one story.

I know that everyone has a reason,

A reason for their sins.

I know that everyone has a past,

A past that provokes their present doings,

And that bygones has to be bygones.

But when this is said,
Why can’t I forgive myself?

Looking back...

image

He looked her into the eyes and said,

You are the only one.

She believed him.

He held her hand,

His own shaking,

And said,

You and me forever.

She believed him.

When she one day checked his messages,

Found a message from another girl,

And confronted him,

He said,

I kissed her.

Then looked into her tear-brimming eyes and said,

It was just a joke, love.

And once again,

She believed him.

Today

She knows she shouldn’t have.
