Parenting 101

Parenting 101

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

exercise in frustration

"
she sits,
glued to a tiny chair
with tennis balls for feet,
contemplating her failure
to get with the program
and step up the positive parenting
while denying
her underlying disease
and masking the deleterious effects
of past mistakes,
push forward
and give us a gold star
for being
normal

Short but packed full of meaning and so skillfully worded. I don't have much to say that the other reviewers haven't, but I'm so pleased to have read this. Very well done!

Thank you for stopping in.
We are not perfect, and that includes when it comes to parenting… we do the best we can, if it is done with loving intentions then we are always on the right track.

I know how hard it is KL. Anyone who has children know, and your not alone we have all made mistakes but its what we do with those mistakes and how we learn from them that make us better parents as we grow with our kids.
Biggest hugs. And for my money I think you are perfect mother.

Your welcome KL.
Children do not come with an instruction manual. Parents do the best they can....and really can not be expected to do more. The image of the tennis balls for feet made me think of an older parent though....one who walks with a walker. You know what? Children do well when they are loved. I know you give your children plenty of that. Nicely written. Lydi**

I am sorry you are going through a difficult time, KL.
that's about it KL! well said! love the image of the wee one that has tennis balls for feet .. such vivid images of them bouncing every which way they can .. as a grand parent i can love it .. as a parent it can be so frustrating .. arrrrrgh! while in the midst of it i actually thought i was doing all the right things .. but when they launched i am like; " what in the world did i do right at all!??" ... in retrospect i can say honestly there is one thing i really did do right .. of course i did it so few times i can barely get past once .. and that is to grab the miscreant in my best hug .. and offer prayers up for us both .. amazing how such "big deals" shrivel ... ;)

Thank you for taking the time.
parenting could never be easy, even with a manual...and all we really want is for our kids to be normal.

Thank you. Yes.
Well it's not easy, that's for sure, and my friend Tate is right, no rule book.
with that being said I reference Ephesians 6:1-6:4 and go from there, thanks for sharing and
