Every Last Hope

Every Last Hope

A Poem by Andi

You love her.

That I understand.

Why, I'm not sure.

All I know is that she is perfect and I am not.

He talks about her all the time.

How perfect she is, how beautiful.

And he knows he can't have her.

Yet he holds on.

To every last hope.

I am right here you know.

I have been all this time.

But he never sees me.

He looks right through me every time.

And I know its stupid.

I know it's silly.

But I can't help but hold on.

To every last hope.

Don't know why I do.

All I know is that he is the only one who can break my heart.

The only one who can and will hurt me.

The only one who does hurt me.

Every time he looks right through me.

Funny thing is though.

I know I'll keep coming back.

And there is nothing I can do.

No matter how hard I try I can't stay away.

It's hurting me so much every time.

But I think it would hurt more to leave.

So I'll stay and hold on.

To every last hope.

The price you pay for undenying love for someone who hurts you anyway is contagious as a narcotic at a party. Nice work. I like the theme within the poem.

Reading your poem,I could see your unselfish love and dedication for him.
Well done.
