Missing myself

I looked at the mirror,

Trying to figure out,

who is this person I'm looking at?

 

Then I realized,

it was me,

not the one I was before

but who I got perfected to

 

Where have I gone?

How did I get to this?

I need to get back to myself

I'm missing myself..

 

Perfection,

has taken over me.

Trying to be

someone I'm not

 

The real me,

wouldn't have cared

as much as I care now

I love the idea of this poem! I think the first half is well written, as is the second half, but you made some repetition in the second half that fits well in the poem but not with the first half.. I think those two part are related in the meaning but not the style, like two different people had written each half...
Maybe you could play with that? As in your poem you talk about not finding yourself, maybe mix a little bit different writings/different fonts? With the two different style cut in half i think it cuts the good flow of this piece..

Nevertheless both parts are well written, striking and powerful of meaning!

We tend to get caught up in a world of superficial things and forget who we trully are.
