Your Dream's Desire

Your Dream's Desire

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

For you I would give everything

"

This woman whose beauty would make God weep

The light of my world

Rebecca

I would give to you my smile

that sauntered look and walk

A long mellow daydreamed breeze

that cute look each time we talk

I would give to you the sunshine

a kind windy sun flowered field

Hopes to fill your hearts desire

with any dream your mind could

 wield

I would give to you the warm rain

sweet songs the whippoorwills sing

The eternal stars of the night

for you I would give everything

Tate Morgan
It is always the inner hope striven for throughout our lives that at one time our dreams will intersect with our reality. Such has been my own experience these last 4 years. A life spent alongside the one you love gives the meaning and purpose so sought for and desired. Happy Anniversary Becky!

Dear Tate,

I have been reading your poetry for years. I have listened to the music that you've included with the poetry. I alway turn that off because I want to hear the true you without coloration. I want to hear the words. This piece was different. The music fit. It was an extension. The words were pure. I think this is your finest poem. I have read the poems about your son, and that emotion is so pure. I have read poems about your experiences, again always so pure. But here I see your heart, My Friend. It is so inescapable. You can't hide here, not even a little piece of you. It's all out there. Here is your consuming love. I read this and dropped my head because I am so glad that you have such an all-consuming love. Give your Lady a kiss from me. She is special and has won undying love from a romantic soul. I hope she appreciates the treasure. I suspect that she does, and she does have those penetrating blue eyes.

Greatest respect, and the highest marks!

A devoted Friend,

Rick

Love...beautiful

This is so lovely. I am happy whenever anyone finds the person they "work" with....when it all fits, and it feels right and good and real.

This poem is really great. I like the way thatyou just wing it all out there like a mad man, casting out everything you have and saying, "Here, have it, take it all. It's all for you because I love you." That is so beautiful and displays such affection, and none of your lines were at all cliche.

This is beautiful, Tate! I can feel the love for your wife in every word. She's lucky to have a compassionate and romantic man such as yourself. :)

This was such a touching poem- I think the song along with the poem is great also, like Rick said below I ususally turn off the song and read the poem first and then listen to the song. I think this poem shows that you don't have to speak in some fancy poetic abstraction to get the point across. I tend to like the abstract psychologically gripping poems, but lately I've been giving more literal life experience poems a try--I think I just have been too bitter, but your poems always bring love, passion, and joy! continue to do so, we need more peace and love in our lives!
