Childhood Nights

Childhood Nights

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

How sweet our former lives.

"

me Tony Kernie

Me on the left Tony in the middle and Kerny on the right

In dreams of my sweet former life

 with the wonders childhood poses

I find those friends I left behind

still so young and fresh like roses

I wonder if to them I'm old

when they think upon occasion

Do they wonder as, I do

of that inner child's persuasion

To me they are the cherished ones

memories of lost summer nights

When we played hide and seek till dark

enriched by all life's smells and sights

In dreams they live on as before

echoes of games we use to play

I start each night as they ended

with the dreams from yesterday

The flow of this poem is remarkable as always and I love the sentiment behind this. I am lucky for I am still friends with my childhood friends that I use to play hide and seek with.

The questions in the second stanza really need a lot of thinking. Did they grow old too? Do they have the same memory? Have they changed since long ago? Or have they just go layers over top of their child inside? Each question creates more. I think this is true what you write.

Interesting. We do remember old friends as they were.

I like this alot. I could remember all the old friends I had when I was younger. The endless nights we spent at eachothers place just enjoying being young. This is amazing, you are a very talented writer, great job :)

Nice feel of reminiscence.

That was indeed very beautiful. It reminded me of the time when I was a small kid. iT IS TRUE THAT OF ALL THE TIMES WE REMINISCENCE ABOUT , IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS THE CHILDHOOD. Loved the last stanza :
In dreams they live on as before.

Like kind thoughts I think and say.

We start my nights as we ended.

With the dreams from yesterday.
