My Girl

My Girl

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The girl I loved most in life

"

My Girl

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Could she hear my heart calling

for the love I never show

Treading lightly along beside

her footprints marked the snow

The warmth of heart I felt for her

I doubt she will ever know

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Oh if I could stop Earth turning

then she might never go

Thank you It is a moment to be remembered when I am alone
I loved the use of the same rhyme throughout the poem. It certainly lent an airy and somewhat wistful vibe to the poem, while maintaining the gravity. This is wonderfully written, quite succinct, and among my favorites! Thank you for sharing this poem.

Such romantic beauty and heart in every word Tate.

Really, a beautiful poem! Beautiful feeling and images throughout - I could see it all. Love it.

Thank you Tate :)
and You're welcome :)
Why don't you just tell her how you feel? Men? Nice ditty of a poem. I ask my wife quite frequently "Did I tell you I love you today"? She no matter what she replies "No" and I always retort "I love you today". Every couple she have their little flirty things.
