My Girl

My Girl

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

The girl I loved most in life

"

My Girl

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Could she hear my heart calling

for the love I never show

Treading lightly along beside

her footprints marked the snow

The warmth of heart I felt for her

I doubt she will ever know

With the girl I loved most in life

I walked in street lamps glow

Oh if I could stop Earth turning

then she might never go

Great clincher. Love that last line. Short sweet and powerful. A work of true love!

"If I could stop the Earth turning..." If only this were possible, and we could go back to those old loves... A wistful sigh in this poem, Tate. Old loves recalled never get old...

This is a beautiful tribute to an old love. We can move on and even be happy with our lives, but still in our hearts can lie a love like no other.
:'(

Thank you for sharing a tiny wee piece of your past x

Thanks Babs i guess we all have our memories by which we judge all others
A lovely and wistful write. I automatically thought of a lost lover, but after rereading, it could apply to any important/memorable female in one's life. As always, so well done!
