Our Humanity

Our Humanity

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Only when we hope in love defined. Do we bother search for our humanity.

"

Man feels such zest of emotion

till it sets his whole mind afire

Calling forth his inner demons

fueling him run instead of tire

No problem then seems too immense

to not warrant a good man’s deeds

The boy hurt on the inside finds

he is the man this child now needs

Life's truths keep turning round and round

generations each wax and wane

Loving ones pick up the pieces

of the small child that still remain

Who among us can rightly say

he has himself just walked on by

To leave the injured child alone

within hearts lonesome soul to cry

It seems we need no help learning

epitaphs of profanity

But when our eyes see love defined

that's where we find humanity

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Will man ever learn his children are his future? Other peoples children mean just as much to their family as well. May we all pause at the thought of pain for any childs sake. To our servicemen I would like to say "Let your heart be your guide and though you might be scarred by your experiences. May your memories flow to the times when the noblest of your nature won out. Will we ever realize just how much we are asking of our children?

I am simply mystified at how your soulful work can stir something so deep in my spirit. Something I can't quite put my finger on, is it the intent, the content, the commonality of experiences you describe or possibly a combination thereof. Maybe it is something which simply defies my own ability to describe that which keeps me seeking out and devouring your work like a hungry puppy. Just loved it and appreciate your shout out to our servicemen.

A very solid piece. We should look after our own, starting with our children. All kiddos have always been number one on my list. Perhaps I should readjust my thoughts to some here, also. Caring and patience isn't always two things that go hand in hand. Food for me to ponder.
Excellent thought, Tate.

How are you doing old friend?
This poem is so tragically beautiful, just as I remember your work being. The picture too is striking! Very good work!

man's inhumanity to man will always abhor me...And you are so right Tate...our race CAN be immortal through our children...The most important humans of all....Great track also..a song about a lost father......You might want to alter WAINS to WANES though....Easy mistake to make

Doc thanks Cant believe I missed that.
man does not think of his children when he makes war, nor the children of others. greed and religion dictate war and those in power have the luxury of knowing that their children will never have to go to war because of the privilege they enjoy from their participation in the whole greed network. if it were up to the humble and poor there would be no wars. as for religion, more men and women and children have died in the name of god, allah, yahweh, or whatever their deity may be...than any other influence in man's history. don't even get me started .....awesome write, very relevant and resonant to the extreme.
