Day is Night

Day is Night

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

A nightmare about being alone

"

Deep in thought

What I am none seems to know

my friends leave me by the many

I am the consumption of my dreams

till I find I haven't realized any

____________________________

Into the nothing of the noise

surrounding us all the where

A life of waking dreams abides

a living breathing nightmare

___________________________

My days are raging shipwrecks

on the tumultuous waves of life

Scattered as to the four winds

upon the rocks that are my strife

___________________________

I long for the days of childhood

when friends were like my brothers

Strength of virtue crowned my head

loved and untouched by any others

___________________________

Certain purpose was my goal

no question on the morrow

I woke to conscience that was clear

courage and faith I didn't borrow

___________________________

Now the dawn speaks of the dark

closing in upon my soul

With every day I linger on

my life rages out of control

What a wonderful picture! Like your poem it has a dark, brooding atmosphere, the gradual extinguishing of the human spirit. I so want to light a candle and have it flicker your thoughts into something lighter.

Grand meter and use of words, sad, sad, sad thoughts and wishes.

There a thin line between yesterday and tomorrow, so we must tow the line that’s called today and make the best of it. Excellent write.

This piece is so haunting, it makes the reader realize himself at his weakest point, that point when we are "the consumption of my dreams, till I find I haven't realized any." This was my favorite line, and it looked me dead in the face and held my gaze. The photo really contributes for a visual feel, and lets the reader take a peek into your kaleidoscope life. Well done once again. :)

Tate,what can I say,but Amazing Write!
again you have lead me down a path in your life that seems to have paralelled my own,are we brothers from another mother?Did you know me in another life?
I try to use those rocks of strife as stepping stones...learning from my past mistakes, growing along the way.
Again,Nice work here my friend...LonelySoul

Like you said, I truly believe the Dark is a period that everyone goes through. What they do with it, helps define us. You did a great job of channeling that Darkness into a wonderful expression.

When we are young. Friends were necessary and life a wide open road. I don't know. I believe I'm to blame for blocking out friends. Allowing few to get in. It is sort of sad. We have opportunity to love many and have many friends. The poem is powerful. We need to allow the good things in a life to overtake the bad. When we swim in misery. Hard to get out of B.S. A outstanding poem. You made me think again.
