Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

A mind at peace with all below she is beauty such so ever bright Smile to win the hearts that glow a wonder to the sight

"

Lucy Hamilton Princess of Ireland.

Another life I dream of now

thoughts of others nay-ere to wed

Where love has waited on the bow

shown in beauty of all she said

I watched as she descended stairs

and dreamed the world was none but gay

With her my life had lost the cares

where we would dance the night away

The witted banter of close friends

then came the music swaying crowds

As dreams of love that never ends

on high the heaven’s streaming clouds

From marbled hall and wooded glade

of noble thoughts I was endowed

For love of her my heart had stayed

a life un-wavered and un-bowed

To he whom ever loved so true

we bless the winds of salvation

Red tresses flow in green eyed hue

oh this wonder of creation

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Oh who can say what they would do if the winds had only blown them to distant shores. I wrote this of the dreams of another life not lived. I do not believe we are only able to love one person in life. I think there are thousands whom we might fall in love with if the time and place were right. It is the fates that leads us to our destiny. And this is just a thought on how life could be different if the winds had blown the opposite direction.

You, my dear, are a hopeless romantic; and I love it! It seems you like women as well as love them, this is a very desirable trait in the male of the species, and all too rare.
I believe you are correct, actually, I know you are correct, you can love more than one person. (Hopefully, not at the same time. LOL)

I have been blessed to be led by God to these dreams you pen here and her name is Milagros(miracles). Dreams do come true but not by accident, we must work at making them real. I've read some comments that after years go by in a marriage we must expect that romance will turn a little gray. I can testify this is a false premise. I and my wife work hard to keep life spicy, make goals together such ås; having daily prayer even if it is over the phone, sending notes, texts expressing our love also on a daily basis. We adamantly seek out new adventures for birthdays and anniversaries. Love is like a flowing river that needs to be kept from damming up, a flower that needs constant nourishment. All our children are grown and now we have grandchildren and I feel more in love with my wife everyday. Often in pray I ask the Lord to always help me keep my thoughts only upon my wife and no other women(my career takes me far away from her for days at a time). I always tell myself that when I am residing in heaven I want to look back and say I took every opportunity to love and be with my wife. That's why the little things like watching a movie at home on a Saturday night and hold her in my arms is so important.

lordy -- 77 reviews and you want me to read it! I am flattered. You believe in romantic love: it is clear and your expression of that love is eloquent. I also believe that one can develop affinities for more than one person throughout our lives. The other night my husband was explaining to our daughter (as our 41st is near), that romantic love turns into something else as the years go by -- almost like a business partnership or the board of a corporation. That is a very rational way to express it. My husband is good and kind, but hardly demonstrative or emotional. My daughter worries that his demeanor means he is uncaring, but I think we managed to make her understand that raging streams of youthful emotion mature into wide lazy rivers as the years go by.

The witted banter draws my attention and fixes its gaze on the beauty you describe ... it makes me think I can do a million things with her. But as always she seems to shrug it off as if to say ... ' what's a girl to do with all these?'

A side to you I didn't catch earlier Tate ... the fates do lead our destinies sometimes. Nice write.

This is quite different from your usual poetry, but I like it nonetheless. A little more ethereal and a little less beautiful than your other writes. Good to read you again, though!
