The Sweetest Gift

The Sweetest Gift

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Caught in the web of years that binds our lives so tight Giving all to each desires dreams for the hopes to loves delight

"
My loving wife "Rebecca"

We the frail likes of which

have never known so sweet

Do love each others heart alone

in secret places that we meet

____________________________

We touch each of the other

in the dusk pearl of the spring

Hold the light of love's embrace

as both our hearts take wing

____________________________

Caught in the web of years

that binds our lives so tight

Giving all to each desires dreams

for the hopes to love's delight

____________________________

Never was there a mood of mine

lost in the love song of embrace

That you gave my soul to sing

in wonders lit by our secret place

 ____________________________

Think I must have eyes to see

this heart so unknown till now

Opened the light of imprisoned love

that hung on the weighted bough

_____________________________

Where dark the days of my past

now lit by the bright sunshine

I give the world another look

to see its sweet gift as mine

You are one of the most technical poets I have read on this site. I feel you have an strong understanding of the rules and bylaws of poetry and it's many forms. Often I read poems that are technically perfect but I don't always enjoy them as much as the "Imperfect" ones. I get something else out of poetry that not many are able to tap into.

I hope you understand this is one poem here is my favorite of yours. It was able to stretch beyond the form on the page and reach deeper inside of me beyond the ears and eyes. Bravo this poem is awesome.

First of all, it's always a pleasure seeing that someone can smoothly and beautifully illustrate their love towards another using words. I always find that incredible, since generally, you find people saying that there is no way to express how they feel. when you find a way to do just that, and make it as beautiful as you did, then I must congratulate you on your writing skills :)

Secondly, the words were very dreamy. I felt the passion and the love as I read it, and I think it's such a wonderful idea, how you wrote this thinking of your wife
